Urijah Faber Replaces Dominick Cruz At UFC 169 vs Renan Barao

That’s right you heard it, Urijah Faber has replaced Dominick Cruz at UFC 169.

Dominick Cruz has vacated his bantamweight title due to a groin tear and is out of champion vs champion match with Renan Barao at UFC 169.

Instead, Urijah Faber has agreed to step in on only 3 weeks notice!

As expected, Faber stays ready throughout the year being the head trainer at Team Alpha Male, which has produced more wins in the year of 2013 than any other camp.

Dominick Cruz hasn’t fought since 2011 because of knees injuries so this was expected to be his highly anticipated come back. Cruz can’t seem to stay healthy, he has dealt with several knee injuries in 2011 and then a torn ACL in 2012.

Even though this news is unfortunate, I don’t think they could’ve found anyone better to replace Cruz than Urijah Faber who has recently look better than ever with 4 straight wins.

I really think Faber has a great chance at dethroning the champ in the rematch, let me know what you think how Urijah Faber vs Renan Barao 2 will go down in the comments below!
