This Saturday in the co-main event of UFC 169, Jose Aldo will defend his featherweight title against Ricardo Lamas.

We all know what Jose Aldo brings to the table, he’s defended his title against the best fighters in the world like Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes, and even Frankie Edgar.

Aldo can end the fight with his explosive power and speed and has some of the best takedown defense in MMA.

The challenger Ricardo Lamas has been very impressive since making his UFC debut in 2011 and has been undefeated in the UFC coming into this fight with 4 straight wins against top notch fighters in the division like Cub Swanson and Erik Koch.

You gotta respect the type of guy Lamas is, he’s not going to talk his way into any fights or anything like that. He’s about showing up and fighting and letting his actions do the speaking.

It’s pretty apparent that Ricardo Lamas is the type of guy that won’t back down and will keep fighting until the referee pulls one of them off each other, but at the end of the day I think Jose Aldo is not only more skilled everywhere but also faster and stronger.

Lamas has a strong wrestling background but I don’t think he’s going to be able to land any takedowns against Aldo who has some of the best TDD in MMA. Only way I see Lamas having a chance is if he’s able to last to the later rounds and tire Aldo out, but I just don’t see it happening… and even if it was to go to later rounds, I still think Aldo will take it.

I’d go ahead and predict Jose Aldo by KO round 2, 3.
