Dana White Trying To Make Nick Diaz Vs Lyoto Machida Happen Around November

According to MMAJunkie, Dana White has contacted Nick Diaz and offered him a fight with Machida at 185.

Machida has recently revealed that he would like to drop down in weight while Nick has expressed interest in the past of moving up to middleweight.

Diaz, who is currently retired, doesn’t seem too interested in fighting lately but he may come back for a big fight/pay day.

Not sure if Machida is the fight Diaz or the fans want though.

I mean Dana, if you’re going to offer a fight and hype it up at least make it one where the fans will be guaranteed a show… especially when neither Machida or Diaz have much to gain from beating each other.

Come down inside to see more on Dana’s offer to Diaz and my thoughts on why Diaz vs Machida will make for a disappointing fight.

Dana White: “I talked to Diaz today, and I made him an offer, so we’ll see what happens,” White said. “He had been talking about going to 185 pounds. Machida has been talking about going to 185 pounds. So we wanted to see if he wanted to fight Machida at 185.”

Machida is the worst possible fight for Diaz and there’s more to lose than win in this match up for both fighters.

What does Machida get by beating a welterweight who is coming off two losses in the UFC and watch the excuses pile for Machida if Diaz managed a way to win the fight.

People will be quick to point out Machida cut too much weight and was dehydrated, etc…

Now thats best case scenario, the truth of the matter is we all know Machida will simply run his way to a decision much like Condit did.

Why not make a Diaz vs Condit rematch where Carlos will feel a little more inclined to fight after receiving so much criticism in his first fight with Diaz where many say he ran his way to a decision while Diaz would be interested in redeeming his loss to Carlos.

Condit is coming off two losses from Hendricks/GSP and they both have something to gain from winning the fight… seems to make much more sense to me.

Or Paul Daley vs Nick Diaz again? Now Daley isn’t even signed to the UFC but I had to mention it since it was one of craziest fights ever…

If you never seen the fight, you HAVE to see it, it’s easily up there in the conversation for most exciting fights of ALL TIME!

Or even maybe Hector Lombard who has recently expressed is interest in dropping down to welterweight.

Oh and how can I forget Robbie Lawyer who is coming off a 2-win K.O. streak in the UFC and would love to redeem his K.O. loss to Nick Diaz back in 2004. Damn, that was awhile back!

Check out Diaz vs Lawyer below:

Now, I’m not sure Diaz would want any of these fights, considering he has stated that he only wants a big name fight and may not feel he has anything to gain in fighting Daley or Lawler again but they both would make for exciting fights the fans would want to see!

All I’m saying if Dana’s going to offer Diaz another fight I’d love to see someone who will actually come to fight so we can see a war!

So would you be hyped up for Lyoto Machida vs Nick Diaz? Who do you think will win and how?

Do you agree that there are more exciting fights available for Nick Diaz?
